Services/Policies
Your Guide Anderson Boyd, primarily specializes in Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass fishing with artificial lures, but will take on clients interested in fishing for other species. Anderson has great skills as a pan-fish fisherman as well and is confident he can put his clients in great panfishing opportunities. Anderson is a very honest individual. He stresses that while he usually knows where most of the species are in their local waters, he rarely targets species other than Bass, Channel Catfish, or Pan-fish so your results with others species may vary.
A strict catch and release policy for Bass is vital to sustaining our fragile fisheries. Anderson recommends replica mounts for truly large fish that one may want a mount of(they look nicer and the fish that is possibly 15-20 years old won't be killed and will hopefully provide enjoyment for someone else in the future). When targeting Walleye, Trout, or Pan-fish live-bait will always be in the boat and keeping your trophy catch is not a problem. Anderson can help you with getting a replica made at as long as you tell him before he puts the fish back in the water!
A 20ft Custom built Rock Proof-River Rocket Bass Boat will be your vessel.
Fish can not be filleted and transported legally in PA. The fish must stay hole for transport.
There will be a $75 charge for a lost or broken fishing rod or reel.
In the event of an unexpected fishing tournament at a small lake you are scheduled to be guided on, Anderson may suggest going somewhere else that is nearby or you can fish with the crowd that is up to you. Fishing on tournament pressured waters is usually tough on small lakes and Anderson would recommend an alternate destination, especially if the trip is for bass on a small lake.
Cancellations
The only reason a trip may be cancelled is in emergency situations such as extremely high water or heavy sustained wind. In which case your deposit WILL be refunded or you can reschedule your trip, that is your choice. A phone call will be made to contact you as soon as there is a definite possibility of adverse conditions. Cancellations made by clients will result in the loss of their deposit if the cancellation is made 7 days or less from the scheduled trip. If you must cancel, please call and officially make a cancellation. If Anderson ends up going out to meet clients and they don't show up, the clients will receive a bill in the mail for the day.
Gift Certificates
Gift certificates that do not have an expiration date will be honored at any time, however we can't hold the funds forever so we are now placing a 1 year expiration on the Gift certificates.
Come Prepared!
Dress warm and in layers especially in the spring and Fall. Its always easy to take a layer off so don't skimp on layers. If you don't have a layer to add, then you are stuck being cold and that makes for a very bad day. Staying comfortable is a very important ingredient to a successful day on the water. If rain, snow, or sleet is a possibility bring rain gear. Anderson suggests more than just a poncho and if you don't have a decent set of rain gear that will keep you dry, a good inexpensive pair to consider are Frogg Toggs or Helly Hansen. There are also some high end rain gear options that will not allow water in and will keep you dry no matter what the conditions are. Some high end options are Bass Pro Shop 100mph Rain Suit, Cabelas Guidewear and in the cold weather Grundens is hard to beat.
Bring the proper footwear. If we are fishing in the Susquehanna River, waterproof boots that are at least half way up the shins are recommended but not required. A cheap pair of rubber boots will do, and I suggest bringing a comfortable pair of shoes to put on when you don't need the boots. This would make getting in and out of the boat much quicker and easier for you. Without boots, getting you to shore for any reason could mean getting your feet wet and that's no fun especially in the colder weather.
You are welcome to bring your own tackle, however rods, reels, lures, and bait are provided.
Bring your lunch unless you have arranged lunch with your guide. Your guide will provide snacks and water, you may bring any other beverages you prefer. Alcohol is not permitted on a guided trip.
Your PA fishing license, don't forget to get a PA fishing license. They can be purchased online here.
Bring your own camera if you would like to take your own pictures. There will have a camera on-board, which will use to take pictures of any fish that you want a photo of. After your trip is over, the pictures will be sent via email or text message, whichever you prefer.
Group outings are a possibility using multiple guides and boats, call or email for details.
Meeting arrangements must be made prior to your trip date. Please do not be late, if you do not show up at the agreed upon time your trip will start with or without you. If you are a running late please notify via a phone call. No call no show after 1/2hr of the agreed start time will result in possible loss of your trip and your deposit will be lost and you will receive a bill for the day. A deposit loss and a bill in the mail for the lost trip will follow.

A 20ft Custom built Rock Proof-River Rocket Bass Boat will be your vessel.
- Custom-River Rocket is 20ft + a 2ft rear deck extension. I designed the layout of this boat with the help of Brent Kauffman at Rock Proof Boats. The goals were awesome fish-ability, lots of below deck storage, comfort, safety, convenience and of course the ability to skim over just inches of water. It is rigged with a 200hp Mercury Optimax In-Board Sport Jet. It has a huge divided livewell, anti-skid deck coating, 2-built in coolers that double as steps for the front casting deck and many other nice options. The boat is also equipped with all of the latest and greatest in fishing technology. Including 2-Power Pole shallow water anchors with drift paddles, which will grant us amazing boat control while trolling, drifting, or anchoring. The Power Poles and Ultrex trolling motor will allow Anderson to tend to clients better, by allowing the guide to move around the boat without having to worry about where the boat will be drifting. It is also equipped with 2-Hummingbird 998c HD SI/DI/GPS units. The Side Imaging won't be very useful in the Susquehanna River, however it will be super helpful on the lakes we guide on. Brent at Rock Proof builds one heck of a great boat and I have to give him 2 thumbs-up for building the boat that no other builder could offer!
- The River Rocket has a 112lb thrust Minn Kota Ultrex trolling motor powered by Lithium batteries to hold the boat in the strongest winds and fastest currents all day.

Instructional Bass Fishing Trips
Instructional trips will focus more on teaching everything there is to know about a particular technique, fish habits, strategies, and or whatever you want to hone your skills on! We will talk about the situations or conditions you might face and how the fish will react to the baits your are interested in learning about. These trips will usually yield less fish but are a bargain with the knowledge gained. Bring a notepad!
Instructional only trips have the same rates as above.
