Well my second charter didn't go as planned today. My boat wouldn't start for my second charter. I have been having intermittent fuel delivery issues with it, so it wasn't too surprising. Still a real pain though with this being the busiest time of the year for marine mechanics. Anyway, Reggie and I went off to Stevens lake to salvage the trip. Reggie let me fish today and we boated around 8-10 Largemouth and 2 pickeral. One Pickeral was at least 24" and the bass were mostly small, except for the one I'm holding up! 4.93lbs!

Brought Joe out on the river this morning! 16 Smallmouth in the boat then we did a little ctafishing! 2 quick cats and we limped back to the ramp...got a piece of wood stuck in the impeller! Brought out Rudy and his son Rudy for the second day of their trip today! They did good with 66 Smallmouth in the boat and 2 Walleye as well! Young Rudy lost a true Susquehanna giant Smallmouth today, that one would have been a hard Lunker to beat for the year! Brought out Rudy and his son Rudy on the Susky today! The rain was steady but so was the fishing! 80 Smallmouth Bass in the boat today, 1 Northern Pike, and we targeted cats for about an hour and boated about 8 of those! Lots of action today! No really big fish but lots of fun!The rods and reels from Lew's performed perfectly! Finally starting to see decent water temps and a somewhat fish-able water level on the North Branch today. Stan and Paul put in a hearty shift today. The day started out slow, but the bite got better as the day went on! 39 Smallmouth in the boat, along with 1 decent sized walleye! Paul is going to take over the lunker lead for a little while with a 3.10lb Smallmouth he boated today! Brought Jordan, Linda, and Cameron on the river for some smallmouth fishing! The river conditions were tough with cold murky water. 39 degree water temps are tough to deal with, especially, in the mud! They did manage to get 11 smallmouth in the boat though! They also tried their luck with the Catfish and caught 5 or 6 of those too! Brought Charlie and Danielle out on the River today! They managed 61 Smallmouth, a sucker, and a nice sized Trout! Charlie gets to ride the Lunker of the year contest for a little while with his biggest of the day. A pretty but skinny 18"er that went 2.66lbs. That won't last long but we got to start somewhere! Those fish are getting fired up now! Brought Joe and Dominic out for some Musky today. They knew it would be tough and it was. Musky are tough in good conditions let alone bad conditions. So no fish in the boat today. That's fishing though. Next weekend will be a 100% different though. The fishing should be fantastic!
Tough conditions out there on the river today! That didn't stop Rich, Scott, and Phil from catching a few! Only a couple bass today, but the variety was good and a slammer Walleye is always a welcome surprise! Playing with some big uglies today! In the winter like water temps of the Susky! Spring is not showing up this year! |
