Susky River Fishin!

10/26/2012

Hit the good old river today with Pat and Jason!  Though the stained water kinda put a little damper in the bite the fishing was still good and I had a great time putting Pat and Jason on a few smallies.  I think about 15 smallmouth made it in the boat and 1 tiny walleye.  No big ones today but they were all fun and chunky fish.  Most of them were in the 12-15" range.

Brought Giles out on the river to catch a few today!  We had a good old time out there battling the wind and the SMALLIES!  I think there were close to 30 fish in the boat today with close to half of them in the 15-17" range!  Gotta love the river!  We also put about a 16" walleye in the boat as well.  I had fun out there even though the wind was a real bugger and kept me wondering which way to point the trolling motor.

Brought out Evan and John Sunday morning to try and get Evan a big Largemouth.  That cold snap really put a damper on the bite however.  The bite was really tough and we only managed to get 4 largemouths in the boat.  While I was trying to figure the bite out for John and Evan, I managed to put a 5lb largemouth in the boat.  No more big ones for us after that though.  Tough fishing but John and Evan were great and I had a good time out there showing them some new techniques.

Brought Glenn and his friend Collin out for some good old river fun on Saturday morning.  Collin is originally from the UK and between his accent and the humor coming from both of them, I laughed more than they did I think.  Of course, they would tell me they didn't have a good time and then laugh, LOL.

The fishing was just so so after that cold snap that past night.  I think about 20 smallies and a keeper walleye made it into the boat.  The fish almost completely changed what they were doing, but I still got figured out!  Most of them were in the 13-14" range.  A few smallies were boated around the 16" range.  I love the susquehanna river in the fall!

Brought out Lee and Christopher to catch a few on a Friday afternoon dusk trip.  The fish were biting pretty good and I think about a dozen smallies made into the boat.

Lake Carey Bass Bandits Tournament!

Fished a Bass Bandits tournament at Lake Carey this past Sunday. The fishing was good but I just had one of those days..... Everything went wrong that could have, you get those in tournament angling every now and then, you just can't let them bother you! I had the opportunities for the win but I failed to execute, losing lots of fish, due to break offs and short striking fish. I still had a good time out there! The guys that were catching them good brought up some decent weights for Carey and there were at least 5 limits brought to the scales that I know of!

Susquehanna River Smallmouth in the Endless Mountains

Brought out Bob and Greg for some Tunkhannock smallmouth bassin'!  We had a great time catchin' em out there and we put close to 40 smallies in the boat.  A few of which were in the 17" range and heavy chunks.  The fish were biting on just about everything in the morning, even topwaters!  Then the sun came out and things slowed a little bit, until we slowed down with the fish.  Then we started whackin' em again!  I will post pics when I get them!

I had the pleasure of doing another show with Don Jacobs and Brian Hollingshead today!  We went out for some Crappies and they were biting!   I can't say much about it, except we had a great time, and don't forget to watch for it on WNEP!
