Anderson here. My father and I headed on down to White Oak for a few hours on Friday morning. We had a good time out there especially the last hour(9 bass in 1 hour). It took us a while to figure them out but once we did the action was nonstop! We ended up with a dozen bass in the boat(a lot of lost fish in the morning). We also got about a dozen pickeral(maybe more), and 2 bluegill. We didn't want to leave but we ran out of time.

Hey everyone its josh. My father and I hit one of our little honey holes today and boated sixteen largies. Most ranging in 14-16 inch size and one that was around 18 or so inches that weighed in at 3 1/4 pounds. Caught our fish on a assortment of soft plastics and shallow running crank baits, it was a fun time and nice to get out regardless. Anderson here. I brought out John and Evan to Lackawanna Lake on Sunday to try and get a big Largemouth. The water was muddy, a few inches high, and I think it effected the fish more than muddy warm water usually does.... We only ended up getting 2 bass in the boat first thing in the morning. We had a few others get off as well. They were 14-15" fish. I did show them how to catch them when the fish are doing their usual summer thing. I am sure the next time John and Evan go there, they will catch some of those Lackawanna Hogs! Can't get them every time, that's fishing!
On a related note, all this rain has messed up the river pretty bad. Josh had to reschedule 2 trips yesterday due to unsafe river conditions(once we see debris floating down the river, running the river is just too dangerous). Hopefully the river will recede to a decent level soon. The weather forecast doesn't look good though. Brought out Bill and Shane on a Lake Carey fishing trip that was won by Doug B. on our Facebook sweepstakes last year! Doug was kind enough to give the trip to them! The fishing was a bit tough today but they toughed it out and managed to get 8 bass and one pickeral in the boat. Check out the pics! Anderson here. I brought Kevin and John out to Lake Winola for some bass fishing this morning. We originally planned to hit Lake Carey, however when I arrived at the ramp there was a bass tournament going on. So I called Kevin and John and met them at Lake Winola so we didn't have to deal with the tournament. We ended up doing decently enough out there! The fish are in a bit of a funk there right now(Post Spawn), however we figured them out! I think about 10 Largemouth bass made it into the boat from 10"-19"! The heaviest one of the bunch pulled the scaled down to 4.36lbs. The second biggest of the day was brought in the boat by Kevin at 3.48lb's! Just barely missing the top lunker of the year contest! They also caught a few rock bass, a bluegill or two, 5 nice Crappie, and even a Green Sunfish! Sure was a great time out there, I enjoyed the beautiful weather and the lack of boat traffic the cooler weather brought upon us! Hey everyone its josh. Took Patrick and his wife Lori out June 7th for a 4hr Panfish trip and couldn't get on any schools of calico but we decided to catch a few bass and we got around 5-7 in the boat all sorts of sizes the biggest around 2 1/4 maybe a bit bigger. It was a good trip with some good people and it was a good experience thanks Patrick and Lori!
I also took out Jim and Liz on June 7th for a 4HR trip at the river. We managed around 15 or so smallmouth in the boat and had a good day despite the rain which we didn't let get in our way of fishing! It was a good day on the water with new people and some good fishing stories to boot! Jim will be helping Boyds NEPA Guiding Service take out some wounded veterans so hope we can get into it thanks Jim! Hey guys Josh here. Had a nice 6hr trip today on our Susquehanna with Beth and Angie. We managed 25 fish and a few rock bass. Most were caught on small soft plastics and a few jigs as well. We mixed it up a bit today on our strategy and made it into fun fishing! The weather held out for us today which was great it was a great day to be on the water. Thanks again Beth and Angie and good job! Anderson here, last Sunday I brought out Joe and Carmen on a river fishing trip. High muddy water made for some tougher fishing conditions, but the fish were still biting. We got about 20 fish in the boat on that 4hr trip. The size wasn't too great to start off but we started getting some better fish later on. Biggest went about 15-16". Dave K. helped us out once again and brought Chris, his daughter and Melissa out on Lake Carey over the Memorial Day weekend. They had some tough conditions to deal with, especially with the howling wind. However, they made the best of it and put a smorgasbord of species of fish in the boat! They boated almost every species in the lake! Check out their pics! Hey everyone Josh again. May 24th I took Nelson and Charlene out for a 6hr trip on our scenic Susquehanna. Our trip totaled with 23 small mouth bass with nelsons wife landing a 3.42 pound bronzeback bruiser. On another note we believe we seen a river otter it was a pretty neat sighting! I hand it to boydsnepaguiding clients today for sticking it out in the poor weather conditions, high winds, rain and a nasty cold front. Good job guys way to go and thanks for a good ol day on the water despite the lousy weather. |
