HAPPY EASTER everyone!

I would also like to note that I just put an order in for a new boat, a custom Rockproof River Rocket inboard jet boat!  A 20+ footer!  Should be nice an comfy for guiding, it will allow up to 3 passengers on the boat at once, and it will also allow us to get our clients through some extremely shallow water to get to the best fishing to be had on the river!  The boat should be here around late June or in July!  I can't wait!

Hit the river today and enjoyed a nice day on the river with my Dad and Brother.  The bass were tough with the water being still a bit too cold.  We didn't get the old skunk though, we managed to catch 5 big Suckers!  It was good to get a good bend in our poles!  Shouldn't be too long till the fishing starts to get great!  It usually happens quick in the spring.  Our first big warm up or extended stretch of decent temps, will get them going nuts!  I can't wait!

I finally found some time to get out and enjoy some Ice fishing!  Went out and caught around 30 Crappie and Perch(Mostly Crappie).  The Crappie were anywhere from 10-12"er's, so not too bad!  I think I fished till about noon and called it a day as I didn't want to spend all day cleaning fish, LOL!  Hopefully I will be able to get out a few more times before the ice melts.

Brought Ron and Luke out for a few hours to catch some Crappies at the park.  We ended up boating 27 Crappies, 2 small Largemouth Bass and 1 Pumpkinseed.  We had a good time out there and Luke was a great helper out there!  The weather was simply beautiful out there today.  I wish we would have a few more days like that before the ice comes!

Hit the river with my brother this morning for a few hours.  We managed to put about 10 smallies in the boat.  All nice sized fish.  No big ones but a real nice "average fish".  Mostly 2lb'ers.  Best one was close to 3lbs.  Water temps. were about 40 degrees.  The fish were so cold they could barely fight, LOL.  They were still fun though!

Brought Dennis out again to day for a few hours on the Susky!  The fishing was tough to my surprise!  I guess the fish are still in a funk from the rain and temperature drops.  We ended up only putting 3 in the boat and they were all nice chunky smallies from 14-17" range.  The bite will be better next weekend for sure on the river though.  The waters should clear and the fish should be biting good.  I think the fish were still adjusting to the changing conditions we have been dealing with.

Brought out Dennis and AJ today for some Bass and Crappies!  The were biting pretty good and we didn't keep count but I would say we put around 75 crappies in the boat along with 4 nice bass, oh and one 11" perch, LOL.  I ended up sticking a big largemouth at 4.80lbs.  Check out the picture!
