I hit Harvey's today with a good friend and we managed to put over 20 bass in the boat. Got them mostly on jigs and wacky rigged senkos. The 3 biggest were 2-3.5lb smallies and 1-4lb largemouth. Check out the pictures page to check them out!

Hit the river with my dad today. We almost turned around when we got there because the water rose quite a bit over night and turned real muddy. Certainly not the best of conditions, but we decided to give it 1/2 an hour before packing up and going somewhere else. We ended up staying because we caught a few pretty quick. We put 20 smallies and 1 rock bass in the boat, not great for the river especially this time of year, but thats the nature of the beast on the ever changing river. Going to try out Harvey's Lake tomorrow!
Finally the water was high enough at one of my favourite locations(Lake Carey). Water was cold 47-52 but the fish were biting! 30 fish day just me! Fished from about 6:30a-12:30p in the cold, LOL. Funny thing was the fish were biting the best in the coldest water! I also got some fish catching footage for future video productions! Most of them were around the 2lb mark today. With the biggest around 3lbs. No stompers but that is expected for Carey.....Lots of 12-17" fish in Carey. Got them on jigs.
Hit up Harveys today with my Dad and Brother. Water ranged from 50-55 degrees and they were biting good. We managed 15 largemouths and smallmouths and half a dozen pickeral. Biggest largie was about 4.25lbs and the biggest smallie went 3.5lbs. Lots of solid 2-3lber's in the mix. We had to leave early (11:30) and we didn't have my boat(lower unit is getting repaired) so we only had my brothers boat, which didn't allow us enough time to fish all the good areas since his boat is electric. The bite is heating up with a vengeance! The next warm up should get the fish going nuts on Harveys! I can't wait! Call now and Book a trip while the bite is HOT!
Had the lower unit off of the outboard to get some repair work done so I decided not to go to some of the bigger lakes I have been itching to go and fish now that they are open. So I decided to hit the river in Tunkhannock with the trolling motor, LOL. Things have changed quite a bit since the last time I was there. The water is way down(which I like in the summer, but not so much in the spring). There is also some kind of algae washing down the river suspending in the water column. That made the fishing a bit tough, the slime sticks to lures on every cast! That made things a bit tough, it seemed like the fish didn't like it either. It took me quite a while to figure out what the fish were doing, but I did and fished accordingly for about 45 minutes till I had to leave and meet up with my wife. Ended up with 11 smallies and 2 walleyes. 3/4's of the smallies and the 2 walleye I caught were in that 45 minute time frame. 4 or 5 of the smallies were in the 14-16" range and those bigger ones were all caught in that 45 minute time frame along with the walleyes. Another note I have about the bite was that the fish were a bit finicky. I went through an entire package of grubs from fish just grabbing the tail and tearing it off. I actually enjoy the tough days and this was one of them. Figuring out how to catch them when the bite is tough is something that I really enjoy doing(as long as I do eventually figure them out of course, LOL)!
Hit Stevens with my dad for about 3 hours Easter morning(before the festivities, LOL). The water was 50 degrees and we smashed them. We put over 30 fish in the boat with 3/4's of them being 15-18"+ fish! Lots of 3lb'ers! No real hogs but a couple close to 4lbs. Lots of fish in the 15-17" range. Got them mostly on crankbaits and jigs.
The PA Bass Bandits had its first tournament of the year on Fords Lake on Saturday. What a cold windy day with super tough fishing to boot. Not even a single keeper weighed in! With all of the conditions like water temps., time of year, moon phase, ect. we should have been hammering them, or so I thought, LOL. That lake gets fished really hard so that doesn't help, but it just goes to show ya that fish can be unpredictable at any given time. There were some shorts caught by a few anglers but nothing 15"s or better. I managed 3 shorts and 1 bullhead, LOL.
My dad went to Stevens Lake yesterday in the howling wind! He said he only stayed about 2hrs, but he managed a dozen bass in that short time! He said the big ones showed up yesterday and he landed mostly 16-17" fish, with the lunker of the day at 21" and 5lbs! Not bad for a couple hours! The water is still however, really low there and launching a big boat is still difficult, if possible at all. I guess with this Full Moon coming the big fish decided to finally wake up all at once there. Water temp. was in the low 50 degree range.
Fished the river in Tunkhannock today. Ended up getting 21 smallies and a little Northern. Also had something bite through my line taking a jerkbait with it. Had fun though, got them on jigs and Jerks, lol! A lot of fish today were 14-16" ranged for some reason or another. No big ones today, but the quality was surely there. Made some videos of the fish catching action for a promotional video I will be putting together in the near future! Stayed tuned!
My brother and I hit the the Susquehana again on Saturday. We were out there from 7:30am-2:15pm. We ended up with around 60 smallmouth bass in the boat and 1 small walleye. We managed alot of fish in the 14-18" range today. I posted up a few pics in the photos page of the bigger fish. We were catching them today on jigs(soft plastics and hair), jerkbaits, and crankbaits.
